Edible frog (Pelophylax esculentus) is the fertile hybrid of the pool frog (Pelophylax lessonae) and the marsh frog (Pelophylax ridibundus). Marsh frog (P. ridibundus) chromosomes are visible as red signals, pool frog (P. lessonae) chromosomes as green signals. Scale bars equal 10 μm.
