Čeština: Karel Šváb (* 13. května 1904 Praha – 3. prosince 1952 Praha) byl československý komunistický funkcionář a představitel Státní bezpečnosti. Po komunistickém převratu se podílel na represích proti odpůrcům režimu a zejména na čistkách v KSČ. Jeho kariéra vyvrcholila v roce 1950, kdy se stal náměstkem ministra národní bezpečnosti. V rámci vnitrostranických čistek byl zatčen, jako jeden z obžalovaných v procesu se Slánským odsouzen k trestu smrti a popraven. Foto neznámého autora před rokem 1953.
English: Karel Šváb (* 13 May 1904 in Prague - 3 December 1952 in Prague) was a Czechoslovak communist official and a representative of the State Security. After the communist coup d'état, he participated in the repression of opponents of the regime and especially in the purges in the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. His career culminated in 1950 when he became Deputy Minister of National Security. He was arrested as part of the internal party purges, sentenced to death as one of the defendants in the Slánský trial and executed. Photo by unknown author before 1953. |
