Svenska: Kanna i rödpolerad III vara med reliefdekor som liknar ormar. Från grav 319 ("Tomb 319") vid Lapithos, ca.1900 f.Kr.
Invandrare till Cypern under bronsåldern påverkade både hantverk och teknik. Denna kalebassliknande kruka påminner om keramik från det samtida Anatolien. English: Round base; piriform body; cylindrical neck; tall cut-away spout; twin handles from mouth to shoulder; angular loop-hole handle at neck-base opposite twin-handle; two big, pierced projections on mid-body opposite eachother. Hard, buff light-brown clay; lustrous reddish-brown slip. Incised straight and wavy rope-ornaments in relief around neck and shoulder; vertical rows of oblique and diagonal hatchings on upper body and shoulder; vertical zigzag band on neck; groups of oblique hatchings on handle; chevron decoration and line of hatchings on upper handle at rim. |
