Deutsch: Zwischen 1864 bis 1871 stieg Berlins Bevölkerunszahl von 633.000 auf 826.000 Menschen an, für deren Unterbringung neue Mietshäuser benötigt wurden. Kayser zeigt hier die Erschließung solcher neuen Wohnquartiere, die vor allem im Norden der Stadt, in der Nähe der ebenfalls neu enstehenden Fabrikanlagen errichtet wurden; Bau der Grenadierstraße (heute Almstadtstraße)
English: Between 1864 and 1871, Berlin's population grew from 633,000 to 826,000 people, and new apartment buildings were needed to accommodate them. Here Kayser shows the development of such new residential quarters, which were built above all in the north of the city, near the factories that were also being built; Construction of Grenadierstraße (today Almstadtstraße)
