Purpose of use	To illustrate a shot that receives "critical commentary": The inspiration for writer Howard Gordon was the communal ring featured in the episode (pictured). The ring was a real Jewish relic owned by a rabbi who survived the Holocaust. In fact, the rabbi had used it to wed two of Gordon's friends. During that wedding, Gordon developed a "Romeo and Juliet-like" story that revolved around themes of love and wanting to bring a loved one back from the dead.
