Summary

Junction of Lordship Lane and Mount Pleasant Road looking east in 1903. Preparations are underway to lay the Metropolitan Electric Tramway Company’s route from Wood Green to Bruce Grove, opened in 1904. The turning on the right is Mount Pleasant Road. In the far distance the Elmhurst Public House is on the right and Bruce castle is on the left. The fields on the left were used in 1907 for the Peabody Estate.
