Summary

Description
English: Painting by Mary Symonds (b. 1772) showing a side view of fish, labelled Julis lunaris, with scales of blue, violet, and pale yellow. The current species name from World Register of Marine Species is Thalassoma lunare, and the common name is Moon wrasse. Inscriptions on drawing: an upside-down "14" (pencil); inscription in Tamil written in Urdu script (ink).
