Description |
Julian Craster (Marius Goring) has been asked to see Boris Lermontov (Anton Walbrook) in his office, and when coming in sees that his latest musical score "La Bell Meuniére" is on the piano's music stand. Lermontov's assistant is removed from the room once Lermontov promptly tells him to "get out". Lermontov then answers a question which Craster poses to him that he is not seeing him for his new music piece, instead commenting that he is not happy Craster and his leading ballet dancer Victoria Page (Moira Shearer) have fallen in love for each other will affect and lower any future dancing stage performances she makes, whittling away her chances in what he considers to be a 'great dancer'. Craster's responds with "You don't understand, we really are in love" in which Lermontov comments that to say he is also not happy with latest music score given to him, terming it as 'equally impossible'. Craster responds by saying "It's not true, it's good." This results in both parties making backbiting comments to each other, to which Lermontov decides to end the argument by calling another assistant through the intercom, that "Julian Craster is leaving the company, pay him two weeks salary", which Craster leaves the room with his score, annoyed and angered from the meeting. |
