Summary
| Description |
English: Manjusri Monastery (1733) established on Mount Bogd Khan Uul, south of Ulaanbaatar. Painted by Mongolian painter Jugder in 1913 as part of a panorama of Urga.
On the left side is the Mongolian writing 'Shajin-i tetgugchi Bogda Khagan Khairkhan Agula' meaning 'Mount Bogd Khan Khairkhan the Supporter of Religion'. On the right side is the Mongolian writing 'Buyan-i zalbaragchi sume' meaning 'The Temple that prays for good deeds'. This was the other Mongolian name of Manjusri Monastery. |
