Notes Vicuña Mackenna, en su libro Ostracismo de los Carrera, publica un grabado inspirado en este cuadro y, según explica, el óleo estaba en poder de José Miguel Carrera hijo; el Museo Histórico Nacional tiene en su colección una fotografía en blanco y negro del cuadro, hecha en 1920. En La Moneda, en el salón de los Carrera, una copia del cuadro, hecha hacia 1920 por Manuel Núñez González del original Mandiola de 1850 (hay una foto en la p.113 del libro Palacio La Moneda, Dibam, 1983, en la que el cuadro es atribuido a Núñez sin especificar que se trata de una copia). El óleo permanecía allí en 2013 y lo más probable es que siga en el mismo lugar, aunque, según se desprende del decreto que declara Monumento Histórico la colección de 60 cuadros distribuidos entre La Moneda y el palacio presidencial de cerro Castillo, en la que no figura este retrato, el cuadro no pertenece a la colección de La Moneda, sino que se encuentra en préstamo (comodato) de uno de los museos chilenos.
