The Building was built in 1922 as an elementary school for African American children of Atlanta and originally named for Edmund Asa Ware, the first president of Atlanta University. It was renamed in the 60s for Frederick Douglas Jordan, an AME bishop, and served as a classroom Building for the MBC. It was sold in an auction to private investors in May 2013.
