English: Anthropomorphic idol. Nabatean, 1st century AD. Sandstone, from the Temple of the Winged Lions, Petra. I had the feeling I was looking at a replica, the stone seeming too white. There was an inscription, stating Goddess of Hayyan son of Nybat. The eyes were originally inlaid, the cavity at the centre of the crown of laurels probably held an [here is missed some text, sorry]. From another source: the image may have represented al-‘Uzza, the main goddess of Petra, who was identified with the Greek Aphrodite and the Egyptian Isis.
