Description
English: Jonathan Hawaii Napela (1813–1879) was one of the earliest Latter-day Saint converts in Hawai'i. He followed his wife into exile at Kaulapapa after she was diagnosed with leprosy. He died a few weeks before her in 1879. Photograph taken by Charles R. Savage in 1869 during Napela’s stay in Salt Lake City, Utah.
