Description
English: Offered for sale by Abbott and Holder in January 2023 (ref: 10682), when it was described as "Nixon, John (1755 – 1818) Hampshire; ‘Uphus band (?) / near Andover’ Pen, ink and watercolour. Inscribed. 8×11.5 inches.". The work depicts Hurstbourne Tarrant, colloquially known as "Uphusband" ([1]), where there is a 16th century coaching inn called the George and the Dragon
