English: John Cross Memorial Fountain Grey granite and copper fountain on the corner of Bowerdale Park. The design for the memorial drinking fountain was submitted by Gilbert W. Fraser in 1912.
The inscription reads:
"THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED IN THE YEAR 1912 BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF JOHN CROSS FOR 17 YEARS SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE FOR THIS DIVISION BY HIS NOBLE LIFE & KINDLY ACTION ESPECIALLY TO THE POOR FOR WHOM HE FOUNDED THE SOUP KITCHEN HE WAS THE TRUE FRIEND OF ALL IN NEED OR DISTRESS".
