English: John Cleveland a poet who supported the Royalist cause during the English Civil War.
"[A] portrait, accounted genuine, is engraved in Nichols's 'Select Collection of Miscellaneous Poems,' vol. vii. 1781, from an original painting by Fuller, in possession of Bishop Percy of Dromore" (Ebsworth, Joseph Woodfall (1887). "Cleveland, John". Dictionary of National Biography. 11. p. 53).
