A portrait of UFA MLA John Amos Delisle. Inscripton on the reverse reads: "J. A. Delisle / Beaver River"
John Delisle was born in Massachusetts in 1871. He moved to Saskatchewan in 1903 and became a postmaster, giving the town of Delisle its name. Sometime after 1916, he moved to St. Paul where he farmed and did business. Delisle ran in the 1926 Alberta general election in the electoral district of Beaver River as a UFA candidate, winning the seat. He was re-elected in the 1930 election. In the 1935 election, he was defeated by Social Credit candidate Lucien Maynard.
