1592 Professor der Mathematik in Marburg; mehrmals Rektor der Universität Marburg;
1609 ord. Professor für Chymiatrie in Marburg (Doctor, Medicus et Professor publicus chymiatriae) und damit weltweit der erste Professor eines chemischen Faches;
ab 1621 Leibarzt hessischer Landgrafen in Kassel und
ab 1629 als Theophrastus Cassellanus Professor der Medizin und der Naturkunde in Kassel.
