Description
The wedding at Pohjola from Kalevala’s 21st song. The source describes the speaker as Ilmarinen, but the man sitting to the left seems like a very important guest and he is the one Louhi greets first in Kortman’s “Ilmarinen Arrives as the Groom at Pohjola”, which points to him being Ilmarinen instead. Väinämöinen sung at the wedding and that is what the man appears to be doing, and considering that in both works he has easily the longest beard, it’s decipherable that he is Väinämöinen.
