Summary

Description

"Myonichikan ('the house of Tomorrow') was designed and built during 1921-1927 as the facilities of JiyuGakuen, a private school funded by Mr. Yoshikazu and Mrs. Motoko Hani. It was designed by world renowned American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright with assistance by Mr. Arata Endo. Based on Mr. Wright's innovative design and owing to the relative scarcity of his works that remain in Japan the government in 1999 designated Myonichikan a national important cultural propoerty. Three years of restoration were completed in November 2001.
