Français : Jean Sylvain Bailly, (1736-1793), mathématicien, astronome, littérateur, franc-maçon et homme politique français des débuts de la Révolution. Il présida le "Serment du Jeu de Paume" et fut le premier Maire de Paris.
English: Jean Sylvain Bailly (1736-1793) French astronomer, mathematician, freemason and political leader of the early part of the French Revolution. He presided over the Tennis Court Oath, and served as the first mayor of Paris.
