Summary

Description
English: The Japanese light cruiser Yahagi (bottom) lies dead in the water, imobilised after a torpedo hit by U.S. Navy aircraft. The destroyer Isokaze is visible in the upper part of the picture, trying to aid Yahagi. She was subsequently heavily damaged by attacking aircraft and later scuttled by the destroyer Yukikaze with gunfire 240 km southwest of Nagasaki (30.46°N 128.92°E). Of those on board, 20 were killed and rest was rescued by other ships.
