Del 6 al 11 de agosto, en celebración de la Copa Mundial Femenina, Janine Szpara, ex arquera y miembro de la selección nacional femenina de fútbol de EE.UU., llevó a cabo un programa deportivo financiado por la oficina de Prensa, Educación y Cultura de la Embajada de los EE.UU. en Uruguay que tiene como objetivo promover los valores de diversidad, igualdad, inclusión y accesibilidad así como el empoderamiento y el liderazgo de las mujeres a través del deporte. El programa involucró a mujeres privadas de libertad, futbolistas, entrenadoras y dirigentes de Montevideo y el interior del país a través de una serie de presentaciones técnicas y motivacionales y clínicas de fútbol.
