Suomi: James Buchanan Eads ( 23. toukokuuta 1820 - 8. maaliskuuta 1887) oli yhdysvaltalainen keksijä ja insinööri. Hän syntyi Indianan Lawrenceburgissa ja vietti nuoruutensa Mississippin varrella Saint Louisissa, missä kiinnostui vesiliikenteestä. Hän sai nimensä äitinsä serkun, tulevan presidentin James Buchananin mukaan.
