Summary

Description Publicity photo of actor J. Anthony Smythe from the radio program One Man's Family.
Date There is a 1953 date stamp on back but from the look of the microphone he is at, this photo is older than that. The show started in Los Angeles in 1932; by 1933 it moved to NBC's San Francisco Radio City. In the late 1930's the network built a new West Coast Radio City in Los Angeles and many radio shows which were done elsewhere moved to the new location. One Man's Family did the same and remained in Los Angeles for the rest of its life on the radio, so the photo is circa 1933-1940.
