Jura-Simplon-Bahn (J-S): Eine Zweizylinder-Verbund-Lokomotive vom Typ A 2/4 dampft um 1910 mit einem Schnellzug durch die Station Auvernier am Neuenburgersee.
2/4-gekuppelte Lokomotiven hatten bei der Jura-Simplon-Bahn noch von ihren Vorgängerinnen Lausanne-Freiburg-Bern-Bahn, Bernische Staatsbahn und Jura-Bern-Luzern-Bahn her Tradition. Handelte es sich dabei noch durchwegs um Tenderlokomotiven, so baute die Lokomotivfabrik Winterthur in den Jahren 1892-1896 für die J-S dreissig Stück einer Zweizylinder-Verbund-Ausführung mit Schlepptender. Bei der Verstaatlichung der J-S kamen alle 30 Maschinen zu den Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen (SBB), wo sie als einzige ehemalige Privatbahn-Lokomotiven ihre bisherigen Betriebsnummern (101-130) behielten.
