IN 1980, NEW CASTLE COUNTY PURCHASED THE VANSANT PROPERTY TOGETHER WITH THE OTHER THREE PROPERTIES. THESE LANDS CONSTITUTE ABOUT ONE THIRD OF THE MIDDLE RUN VALLEY NATURAL AREA. I AM SORRY FOR THIS POOR PICTURE BUT THIS IS A VERY DIFFICULT AND PERHAPS IMPOSSIBLE SITE TO VISIT. FIRST OF ALL THE ADDRESS IS WRONG. IT SHOULD BE CIRCA 170 POSSUM HOLLOW ROAD WHICH IS THE HEADQUARTERS FOR THE TRI-STATE BIRD SANCTUARY. THE HOUSE IS ABOUT 200 YARDS OR SO DOWN A GRAVEL PATH OFF LIMITS TO VISITORS. I ASKED PERMISSION TO WALK DOWN THE PATH BUT WAS REFUSED SO I TOOK THIS PICTURE THROUGH THE WOODS WHICH SHOWS THE BACK OF THE MAIN HOUSE. I HAVE A MAP OF THE PROPERTY AND THIS IS THE ONLY HOUSE ON THE SITE AND ALL OTHER BUILDINGS ARE SUPPLEMENTARY
