DescriptionIstanbul Mehmet Ağa Mosque exterior in 2006 3507.jpg
English: Pictures showing the exterior from several sides. The mosque was built for Hacı Mehmed Ağa in 1585, Chief of the Black Eunuchs under Murat III. It is one of a few buildings that can (because of an inscription on site) be attributed to Davut Ağa, Sinans successor as Chief Architect to the sultan. It has a dome of 11 meters, resting on an octagonal base. It’s surrounded by quarter domes in the corners and a half dome over the mihrab niche.
