Português: Plantação de arroz irrigado em Formoso do Araguaia, Tocantins. É o maior projeto de arroz irrigado em área contínua do mundo, totalizando 27.787 ha de várzea (segundo a Prefeitura no link abaixo). Em marrom, amarelo e branco, solo exposto. Área com arroz em crescimento em verde limão, arroz maduro em verde escuro. Lagos e áreas inundadas em cinza escuro e preto. Os lotes quadrados tem 1 x 1 km. Á esq. da imagem o Rio Formoso corre de S a N. No canto inferior esq. em marrom esverdeado, cerrado. No canto inferior dir., em amarelo, áreas de pastagem com vegetação seca devido à estiagem nessa época do ano / Irrigated rice plantation at Formoso do Araguaia, Brazil. It is the largest continuous irrigated rice project in the Wolrd, on 68,663 floodplain acres ( according to town website at link below). Exposed soil in brown, yellow and white. Growing rice appears in lemon green, mature in dark green. Lakes and flooded areas in dark grey and black. Square plots have 0.6 x 0.6 miles. Left of image, running from S to N is Formoso River. Savanna, in greenish brown at image left bottom corner. Cattle ranching at image right corner, appearing in yellow, with dry vegetation during drought, normal at this time of the year.
