DescriptionIrondale Lake (proposed) approximate extent.svg
English: This is a map of the approximate location and extent of the lake that would have been formed by the proposed dam on the Big River at Irondale, Missouri as part of the Meramec Basin Project. None of the dams were built and the project was formally deauthorized in 1981. This map is based on the low-resolution map of all project lakes published in Damning the Dam: The St. Louis District Corps of Engineers and the Controversy Over the Meramec Basin Project from Its Inception to Its Deauthorization by T. Michael Ruddy and published by the Corps of Engineers (File:Meramec basin plan200.jpg). The extent shown here is derived from a dam assumed to be at geographic coordinates 37.81602 N 90.70720 W with a maximum pool elevation of 256m (840ft), using 1/3 arcsecond elevation data from the National Elevation Dataset.
