Summary

Structure of irditoxin, a three-finger toxin found in the brown treesnake (Boiga irregularis). It is unusual among three-finger toxins in that its functional state is a covalently bound heterodimer. Subunit A is shown in blue, subunit B in orange, each subunit's internal disulfide bonds are shown in yellow. Green spheres highlight the site of the inter-subunit disulfide bond.

Rendered from PDB ID 2H7Z. Irditoxin, a novel covalently linked heterodimeric three-finger toxin with high taxon-specific neurotoxicity. Pawlak, J., Mackessy, S.P., Sixberry, N.M., Stura, E.A., Le Du, M.H., Menez, R., Foo, C.S., Menez, A., Nirthanan, S., Kini, R.M. (2009) Faseb J. 23: 534-545 PMID: 18952712 DOI: 10.1096/fj.08-113555
