Summary

Description Iowa State Memorial at the Vicksburg National Military Park. Dedicated on November 15, 1906, and construction completed in 1912. The sculptured works were made of bronze by Henry H. Kitson and Theo Alice Ruggles Kitson. An inscription on the left side of the granite base of the equestrian statue reads: "HENRY H. KITSON & THEO. A. RUGGLES KITSON FECIT 1911."
