Description
English: A histological image of an insulitis, an inflammatory infiltration of the islets of Langerhans of the pancreas, which precedes the development of manifest autoimmune diabetes. The image was taken from pancreatic sections of transgenic PEPCK-Ins None-obese diabetic (NOD) mice which where embedded into paraffin and histochemically stained with Haematoxylin and Eosin (HE). The black bar in the lower left corner indicates a distance of 20µm. The image which was uploaded to Wikimedia Commons is a cropped version of the original image to remove an image label from the published version.
