English: Bydgoszcz - Autumn 1939. Inspection of paramilitary "Volksdeutscher Selbstschutz" unit. From the left:
  • Josef Meier ("Bloody Meier") - leader of Selbstschutz in Bydgoszcz district;
  • Werner Kampe - mayor of Bydgoszcz;
  • Ludolf-Hermann von Alvensleben - leader of Selbstschutz in Pomerania.
