English: Clicked at the Botanical Gardens in Ooty, the beautiful and popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills.This is a male as distinguished by its black plumage and yellow eye-ring and bill. If you look closely you can see that its head is darker than the body. It also has a rich melodious song. Both sexes are territorial on the breeding grounds, with distinctive threat displays, but are more gregarious during migration and in wintering areas. |
