Summary: Self made Collage using following images
Image:Dhingra.jpg, in public domain. Images of V.V.S. Iyer, M.P.T. Acharya, P.M. Bapat and Champakaraman Pillai derived from newstoday.net. Author emailed for permission. Moreover image is from non-commercial source, of a historical nature, and no free alternatives have been found, which allows a strong argument for fair use rationale.. Moreover the images indicate that these are taken most probably in the first decade of 1900s, which qualifies it for {{PD-old-50}} and/or {{PD-US-1923-abroad}} Image:Maudgonne.jpg, in public domain. Image of V.D. Savarkar obtained from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Institution does not claim copyright, but permission sought nonetheless. Also, previous communications from BVB suggests this is acceptable. Further, the image indicates that this was taken most probably in the 1890s or 1900s, which qualifies it for {{PD-old-70}} and/or {{PD-US-1923-abroad}}. No free alternative images of V. D. Savarkar has been found by myself, and further the image is not rom a commercial source nor a cause of loss of revenue. A strong argument maybe made for fair use if permission to reuse should be denied. Anant Kanhere, Image first published in The Maratha in 1909, after murder of ATM Jackson, image is in public domain. Indian Sociologist, as image indicates, published in September 1908. Image is now in public domain.
Fair use rationale text:This image, India_House_collage.jpg, is being linked here. Although parts of this image maybe subject to copyright I, rueben lys, feel it is covered by US copyright laws because it is a collage of historic images which illustrates the constituents, activities, and impact of India House which is the subject of the article. The parts of the image which may be subject to copyright, it is to be noted that the images are nearly a hundred years old and is more likely than not that these are in fact now in public domain both per Indian copyright laws and possibly also US and British copyright laws. However, since this cannot be confirmed at the time of uploading of this image, a fair use argument is made noting that the images are derived from non-commercial sources and are not a cause of loss of revenue. Free alternatives have been sought, but no source common or uncommon has been found that clarifies the date of original publication of the images. The subjects of these images have expired, and hence a portrait can not be self made. However, the subjects are relvant to the article, as the text itself would illustrate. Hence, this image is in fair use.
