DescriptionIndependence of Errors Assumption for Linear Regressions.png
English: To test the assumption of the independence of errors within a linear regression model, one has to plot residual values against predicted values. Residuals that appear to be evenly distributed below and above 0, such as the plot above, indicate that the errors of the regression model are independent of predicted values, thus meeting the assumption. Plots with unevenly distributed residuals would indicate a violation of the assumption.
