Summary

Description
English: Unlike the pods of most leguminous trees, but like some Senegalia species, Libidibia ferrea pods are indehiscent, and dissemination depends on dropped pods being eaten by suitable large ungulates for having the seeds released and spread, usually in their manure. The pod is hard and it took a sharp knife and considerable force to open this pod and release a seed.
