DescriptionIllinois Central Green Diamond 1936 3.JPG
Photo of the Illinois Central streamliner "The Green Diamond" in Milwaukee on April 24, 1936. Before going into regular service, the IC took the train on a publicity tour in April and May of 1936, similar to those by the Burlington for their early Zephyrs. Milwaukee was one of the places the train visited. The train was at the Milwaukee Road station in Milwaukee--the sign for the depot can be seen in the background of this photo.
Illinois Central-photographer appears to be Dirsal.
Though the uncropped photo shows no copyright markings, I am unable to examine the photo's back.
A copyright search for renewals for the years 1963 and 1964 was done, in the event there may be an unseen mark.
The search was for anything pertaining to the Green Diamond or Illinois Central Railroad, the owner of the train. No information regarding any renewals was found.
Though I believe there was no copyright on the photo, I have chosen to license it as copyright not renewed.
Note that it may still be copyrighted in jurisdictions that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works (depending on the date of the author's death), such as Canada (70 years p.m.a.), Mainland China (50 years p.m.a., not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 years p.m.a.), Mexico (100 years p.m.a.), Switzerland (70 years p.m.a.), and other countries with individual treaties.
