Description

Igreja Matriz de Rio de Contas, construída pelos escravos no século XVIII, é considerada a principal construção religiosa do sertão baiano, esta igreja provavelmente não foi terminada. No interior destaca-se a carpintaria e, no forro da capela-mor, há uma pintura ilusionista de inspiração italiana. A torre foi reconstruída em 1960 após um desabamento.
