Comparison of two images taken at different ISO settings on a digital camera. This is a crop of a small section of each image displayed at 100%. The top portion was shot at 100 ISO, the bottom section at 1600 ISO.
Notes on these images:
Taken using a Canon EOS 400D with the kit lens. Taken in Av mode (f/5.6) under natural light which was changing due to moving cloud cover. The shot taken at 1600 ISO used a camera selected shutter speed of 1/4000 s which is the fastest shutter speed the camera is capable of. The exposure values of the two images are different, this could have been due to the changing light conditions or the camera being limited by the shutter speed limit, or a combination of the two.
