Description
English: An Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) cast copper alloy pin with a polyhedral, faceted head (c. 700-c. 900 AD)
The head has a punched ring-and-dot motif on twelve faces, the upper face plain. A small portion of the shaft tapers to a break. There are two vertical 'seams' on the shaft.
This pin has a brown patina and small areas of corrosion and off-white corrosion products on the rings and dots.
16.31 x 5.54 x 5.21mm. Weight: 1.27g.
