English: 081022-N-4995K-051 INDIAN OCEAN (Oct. 22, 2008) The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group and the Indian navy's Western Fleet steam through the Indian Ocean in a passing exercise (PASSEX) formation. The PASSEX formation, which involved 12 warships, symbolized the completion of the three-day exercise Malabar 08, which was designed to increase cooperation between the Indian and U.S. Navy while enhancing the cooperative security relationship between India and the U.S.
