Description
English: The annual Sri Lanka Navy SLN – Indian Navy bilateral maritime exercise (SLINEX) was conducted at/ off Visakhapatnam from 07 to 10 March 2022. SLN Ship Sayurala, INS Kirch and Jyoti, and Indian Navy’s Advanced Light Helicopter ALH, Seaking and Chetak helicopters along with Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft participated in the exercise. The highlight of the exercise included maiden 'dry mating' of SLN ship with Indian Navy tanker as part of Replenishment at Sea/ fuelling exercise. Other exercises included surface and anti-air exercises, weapon firing, seamanship evolutions, tactical manoeuvres, VBSS and cross deck flying operations. The exercise indicated high degree of trust, cooperation and interoperability between the two navies.
