DescriptionHusky Stadium and Naval Military Hangar-University Shell House-Canoe House, University of Washington.jpg
English: Naval Military Hangar-University Shell House-Canoe House, University of Washington Waterfront Activities Center, (and behind that Husky Stadium) seen from across the Montlake Cut of the Washington Ship Canal as it enters Union Bay. Built in 1918 by the U.S. Navy to serve as a hangar for the Aviation Training Corps, it was never used it for that purpose. It was donated to the university, whose rowing team stored its racing shells there until 1949. It is now the "Canoe House", associated with the Waterfront Activities Center. It was the first University of Washington structure on the National Register of Historic Places, ID #75001856.
