Description: Hugo Sperrle, ex-Fieldmarshal of the German Air Corps, sits remorsefully in the defendants dock of the High Command Case at Nuernberg during a morning recess of court. A professional soldier who rose from the grade of Captain at the end of World War I, the 63 year old was in command from 1936 to 1937 of German troops of the Condor Legion in Spain. After his command in Spain he took command of an Air Group and in 1939 became Commander-in-Chief of Air Fleet 3 which bombed London during the blitz.
