English: Hugh C. Farthing served in World War 1914-1919, was an Alberta Master of Arts in Criminology, and practiced law in Calgary for many years. He was active in the Church of England and the British Empire Service League. In 1958, Mr. Farthing was made a District Court judge and in April 1960, he was raised to the Supreme Court.
