English: A photo of Lt. Howard Morton, Battery G, 1st West Virginia Light Artillery (a.k.a. Ewing's Battery). The battery was part of the Union Army in the American Civil War. At the beginning of Morton's Civil War career, he was a lieutenant in the 2nd West Virginia Infantry Regiment.
