Description

French WW2 Cavalry Tank Manufacturer:- Hotchkiss et Cie Built:- 1936 to 1940 Total Production:- approx. 1200 (all models) Main Armament:- 37mm SA18 gun Originally built for French Infantry as the H35, but rejected because of poor steering, the type was adopted by French Cavalry in 1936. The H39 was updated with a new engine and increased top speed. After the fall of France in 1940 the type saw service with the Axis forces and this example was captured from Panzer-Abteilung 211, German Army, in the summer of 1941. It is on display in what is best known as Hall 5 of the Kubinka Tank Museum, although its official title is now Pavilion 5 in Area 2 of the Park Patriot museum. Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
