Description
English: Honolulu Hale served as the governmental building of the Kingdom of Hawaii from 1843 to 1853 and then later as its postoffice from 1853 to 1871. The coral rock structure was built either in 1835 or 1845 on the order King Kamehameha III to house his the newly created Legislature of the Kingdom of Hawaii. It was later sold to Henry Martyn Whitney who converted half of it to a store and the other half to a postoffice.
